Membership

Membership of the Williamstown Camera Club is open to all. Membership fees are typically paid annually in July. Concessions are available for students, family memberships and pensioners. Prorated payments available for new members who join partway though a financial year. Once you have joined the Club you will be able to compete in all Club competitions. The Club's current membership fees are:

  • Individual $75.00
  • Concession and Remote* $50.00
  • Family $110.00
  • Family Concession $90.00

If after attending a few Club meetings you feel like joining us then simply ask the Treasurer for a membership form. Membership fees can be paid to the Club Treasurer by cash or internet banking (see below).

*A remote member is anyone who lives beyond the bounds of the Melbourne Metropolitan area (interstate or country Victoria).

For most items, including membership, we now accept payment via direct deposit into the club's bank account. Details are as follows.

Senders box: to be completed with your name

Reference box: please use your surname (best fit, if it is long) plus your specific competition number - most banks allow maximum of 18 characters. (e.g. young3). Shorten your surname if necessary - but always use competition number. If you are a new member use the letters "new" after your surname - e.g Smithnew.

These details show on the WCC bank statement and are the only way we can identify who inward transfers are from. If you are paying WCC, we will be expecting these funds and will know the reason.

Upcoming

Workshop: Flash Theory and Practical - Not Studio Flash

We're going to be working with standard flash units. On and off the camera. We'll look at the pros and cons of the many different ways to use your flash in photography for portraiture work and for lighting macro photos.

We will also following this up with a practical day on the weekend to practise using our flash outdoors.

Presentation: Negative Space in Photography & Landscapes Part 2

James will join us via Zoom and take us through the concept of Negative space in photography can how it can be used to create an emotional response to your images or to focus on a singular subject.

Following this we will have part 2 of the landscape presentation by Neil and Ian Street.
